Trends forum

Each edition, Martine Leherpeur Conseil decodes the next season’s trends. At the trade show, trends are introduced in a forum built around a selection of ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, as well as in daily talks in French and simultaneously translated into English.

If the previous season inspired poetry, light and flashes of optimism, the F/W 2016/17 trends hit hard with three totally different fashion energies. Last season we blurred the lines between reality and imagination.

Guests interpreted the 3 main trends for themselves:

As polar opposites of big global design agencies, SublimDesign encourages you to mix up trends while enjoying a unique interactive experience.

We dived into the world of Urban Cowboys and « The Western Bikers » with the team at 56 Motorcycles and took another look at the store by Sakina M’SA and her blue line collection. The designers at Drône re-interpreted Soviet style trends. The NoGo Zoners’ style was enhanced by a fun dance atmosphere thanks to DJS Nick V, Sunday and Gizele. Maxime Pouillot0 exhibited his photography, a collection centered exclusively around one theme.

And finally, we lived the sweet life of the Pop Gamers with the Koreans at Playnomore, creators of Very French Gangsters and the arcade gamers Neo Legend.

SUBLIME DESIGN

From January 22nd to 25th at the Who’s Next trade show, Uditek and SublimDesign presented a remarkable installation based on the idea of bringing together the worlds of technology and the handmade. The graphic designers and creators at SublimDesign teamed up with the geeks at Uditek to produce a triple turn-table DJ, who appears as if by magic on top of a block of construction-site wood, simply by being touched.

56 MOTORCYCLES

Tom Dun, a 30 year-old French-Australian man who fell in love with motorbikes before he even knew how to work them, created 56 Motorcycles in Paris back in 2011. The brand is a custom garage that prepares all kinds of 2 wheeled vehicles and in particular those models that are hardly noticeable on first look.

SAKINA M’SA and BLUE COLLAR COLLECTION

Out of workday blues and recycled fabrics, this menswear line campaigns for the wearing of blues by “slaseursh” citizens (cabinetmaker/graphic designer/dj…) The symbol of a “mutant” generation culminating multiple professions, this is a resourceful fashion that also has the power of permanent self-reinvention.

The DJS GISELE, SUNDAE et NICK V

Gisele
One night in December 2012, after winning the end of the world DJ Contest launched by Les InrocksLab at Wanderlust, Aline became Gisèle. There are no rules here; all that’s asked is that the music creates an atmosphere full of serenity and fun.

Sundae
Dj Sundae’s set consists of electro and post-punk dance music. With his label Hollie Records, he has released numerous folk and disco-rock records as well as unreleased productions by Arthur Russel.

Nick V
Born in Manchester, NICKV made his name in the early House scene. Parisian DJ since 1994, he was first known for his sets at the legendary club, Le Queen, and has since brought together a series of resident-nights in the capital: Guys & Dolls, Otra Otra, Ballroom and the ongoing Mona, all attracting a mixed-crowd with a mutual open-mindedness.

MAXIME POUILLOT

Passionate about graphic artwork and self-taught photography, Maxime Pouillot likes to experiment with sound, image and light. Through the medium of photography and digital tools, he captures the real and transforms and reinvents it, or simply even simply takes a momentary and ephemeral aesthetic and freezes it in time.

PLAYNOMORE

“PLAYNOMORE” is all about having fun with fashion. It interprets the contrasting concepts such as luxury versus cheap and mannish versus feminine with contemporary wit. New items will be presented every season to draw out unfamiliar fun from familiar objects.
